Iran's renewable energy power plants have a power generation capacity of more than 920 MW, of which solar power plants account for the largest share of power generation, followed by wind power plants. In Iran's total power generation, natural gas power generation accounts for 90 percent , and hydropower accounts for about 7 percent . In January this year, Iran's Ministry of Energy signed a memorandum of understanding with private companies to build 10,000 megawatts of renewable energy power plants across the country.
